  CBE Launches Electronic Portal

Stakeholders, Professionals and the public can look forward to a new electronic portal, the “Knowledge and Information Centre”, which was launched on 31st of March 2008 at the offices of the Council for the Built Environment in Groenkloof (Pretoria).

The event was attended by members of the media, and various stakeholders and professional organisations. The Deputy Chairperson of the Council for the Built Environment, Professor Gwen Theron, who has been with the Council for six years, encouraged those present, especially tertiary and research institutions that require additional knowledge about the Built Environment, to make use of the Centre.

Prof. Theron said that the Knowledge and Information Centre will ensure that people have easy access to information about the Built Environment and announced that the electronic portal is now operational and can be found on the CBE website.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Council for the Built Environment (CBE), Mr. Bheki Zulu, said that as a government entity, the CBE will not charge people for using the Knowledge and Information Centre.

The Programme Director of the day, Bridget Bhengu, thanked everyone who attended the launch and praised the Knowledge and Information Officer, Busisiwe Khumalo, and the Communication and Stakeholder Relations team for making the day a success. Professor Gwen Theron agreed that the launch went extremely well and hopes that this sort of initiative will persist in the near future.
