The 2015 academic year CBE Maths and Science Support Programme aims to enable learners from disadvantaged communities to obtain better grades in these subjects in order to attract them into Built Environment professions and other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers. For this financial year, the programme is running in the Francis Baard Education District in Kimberley, in the Northern Cape Province. The CBE has enlisted Khula-Nathi Foundation Centre for the implementation of the project. 150 learners from Grades 10 – 12 attend the weekend and school vacation classes based at the William Pescod High School. Learners’ progress, tracked by their quarterly exam results are showing positive trends and the project enjoys endorsement by the Northern Cape Provincial Department of Education, forging another partnership for CBE to assist with its operational programmes.
