The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is a statutory body established
under the Council for the Built Environment Act (no. 43 of 2000). It is an
overarching body that coordinates six Professional Councils (Architecture,
Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Project and Construction Management,
Property Valuation and Quantity Surveying - all operating within the built
environment) for the purpose of promoting good conduct within the professions,
transforming the professions and advising the South African Government on built
environment related issues.
In fulfilling its mandate the CBE calls for service providers to submit
proposals to undertake a National Study and Development of Policy Frameworks on
Recognition of Voluntary Associations, Professional Registration, Appeals and
Tribunals, International Agreements and Competency Standards.
The purpose of the project is to conduct research and provide a record on the
status quo, benchmarking and development of generic policy frameworks on the
five mandates listed above.
The CBE is committed to affirmative procurement processes in line with the
Public Finance Management Act and other related regulations.
Companies interested in responding to this invitation are requested to obtain
